Kirschau

Kirschau
, “the village with golden roofs”, is located south of Bautzen in the Oberland in eastern Saxony. Influenced by early middle-class textile industry, the region used to be the economical motor of eastern Saxony. In the 1920s, Kirschau reached its economical peak.
Already at that time the dedication of the citizens complemented the investment of the factory owners Friese and Pelz.

In that way an unusual municipality was formed, whose radiant power can be seen and felt even today in the social and architectural living environment of Kirschau.
Today again exist promising cultural investments: the construction of the „Körse-Therme”opens external link in a new window and the private economical involvement of the Schumann Familyopens external link in a new window with the building of the only luxury wellness hotel in Saxony.

These are only two examples of enormous efforts to keep and increase the quality of life of the citizens in this region.
