BOHEMICA / grenzART 2

BOHEMICA is an accompanying project of the 3rd Saxon State Exhibition 'via regia - 800 years of movement and mobility'.
BOHEMICAart, BOHEMICAinfo, and BOHEMICAaktiv constitute the three-part, mobile, trans-border art, and action project for the revitalization of the old trade route Böhmischer Steig / Stará Pražská (Ancient Prague Road).
Within the scope of BOHEMICAart artists from the Czech Republic and Germany moved along the old trade route from Bautzen to Prague for one month. They addressed trade, rituals and communication at 27 city and landscape areas.
BOHEMICAinfo is a multilingual website designed for the project (www.bohemica.info). It allows the user an interactive access and offers current geographic, historic, cultural, and touristic information about the old trade route between Lusatia and Bohemia.
Geocaching, the current outdoor-trend for modern treasure seekers, will be the center of attention of BOHEMICAaktiv. With the help of GPS devices the so called geocachers can find cultural treasures at prominant places like natural monuments, historic cultural sites etc. along the Böhmischer Steig / Stará Pražská and the Via Regia.
